Since we sold our online retail business in 2017, my husband Jeff and I have been approached about dozens of investment opportunities in a variety of industries. Since we are partners and do all of our business ventures and investing together, I was always involved. I noticed very quickly that I was often one of the only women in the room for these pitch meetings. Several of these businesses even marketed products mostly to women yet there weren't women investing or on the executive teams of these companies. Because I believe all businesses and teams are stronger when women are involved in the leadership and strategy, I wondered if there were other women around me who would be interested in private business investment or that were executive-level business leaders that I could connect with. I felt that a group of smart, experienced women could have a positive impact on the growth of these businesses so I began 40Love Capital as a way of aggregating a group of experienced, educated women who were driven to succeed in the world of business and investing.
